If you are not a member yet, now is the time to join our community and receive the great benefits of membership. Acclaimed author Viet Thanh Nguyen will discuss and take questions about his long-awaited sequel to the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Sympathizer, the 2022 California Book Awards' silver medalist The Committed. We pick up the story of Nguyen's protagonist (or anti-hero?) first in Paris then on to California, where he gets embroiled in the Vietnamese community's underworld. This fast-paced novel is a must read, as Nguyen's writing is full of irony, sardonic humor and word play.
Join us in-person or online to hear directly from the author (who will join us via Zoom) and to share your thoughts and questions on the book and the issues it raises.
This program has 2 types of tickets available: In-person and online-only. For online viewing, pre-register to receive a link to the live-stream event.
