Best of Peru's Art & Archeology

Travel through Peru with archaeologist Bill Saturno and engage with the country’s remarkable natural and cultural heritage. Begin in Lima and the Larco Herrera Museum. Fly north to the coastal city of Trujillo to learn about the Moche and Chimú civilizations through visits to Huacas del Sol y la Luna, the adobe city of Chan Chan, and the intricate murals of El Brujo. Then travel to the Sacred Valley of the Inca to focus on traditional weaving in Chinchero, Andean agriculture at the Urubamba farmers market, and the region’s native orchid species. Visit the 15th-century citadel of Machu Picchu before ending in Cuzco, the former Incan capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Throughout the journey, archaeology, history, and vibrant living traditions come together in a uniquely immersive experience.
