    What to Expect

    This is a moderately active tour and participants must be able to keep up with an active group of travelers. There is a considerable amount of walking on uneven terrain and at sites of ancient ruins.  You should be in good physical condition to enjoy the tour to its fullest.  For the safety and enjoyment of each participant and the group, participants must be able to:

    • Walk on average 2-3 miles a day in cities and towns during full days of touring.
    • Walk on cobblestone, gravel and pavement.  Some walking excursions require good balance as you negotiate stairs and uneven pavement.
    • Stand for up to approximately 2 hours at a time each day.
    • Walk up and down stairs without handrails, without the assistance of another person.
    • Get on and off motor coaches on your own.
