Carter Roberts explains why growing partnerships between the public sector and private enterprises are a beacon of hope for conservation efforts around the world. Hurricane Katrina, among other recent disasters, made it clear that humanity is coming face to face with the environmental backlash of our Industrial Revolution and the unprecedented growth that followed. With global warming beginning to make a very real mark on the planet, many eco-conscious business leaders and the other leading members of the private sector are joining forces with non-profits such as the World Wildlife Fund to find a better way to live in harmony with the natural world.
