Fighting corruption has been an understated theme of the American Experiment, and the U.S. Constitution was a remedy to a debased monarchy. In this talk, the speaker will define the current state of corruption around the world and how Americans have previously overcome this scourge.
Progressives on the left and right made California a leader in defeating the corruption of the Gilded Age. Can California be a catalyst to get past the corruption that engulfs us now?
About the Speaker
Dr. Paul Clarke is a security expert who has organized counterterrorism and defense reform programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America. As an active-duty Air Force intelligence officer, he served in several operational positions and at the Pentagon, as well as on the National Security Council at the White House, where he was assistant press secretary for foreign affairs. Dr. Clarke is a board member of the Marin chapter of Commonwealth Club World Affairs, as well as president emeritus of the Marin chapter of the United Nations Association.
