At what point would your jaw drop? Disgraced financial titans who give their confessions in a “white-collar support group”? Or hearing about luxury bunkers? Family business spats and status fights that play out like real world versions of “Succession or “The White Lotus”? The fact that today’s ultrarich hold more of our country’s wealth than they did in the heyday of the Rockefellers and the Carnegies?
Award-winning journalist Evan Osnos has chronicled the lives and excesses of the super-rich in this new Gilded Age, and he has shared the entertaining and sometimes unsettling stories in his new book The Haves and the Have-Yachts. He’ll come to Commonwealth Club World Affairs’ stage to discuss the power and wealth of the most powerful and wealthy.
Join us as Osnos paints a portrait of the tactics, obsessions and indulgences of the superyacht crowd.
