Lucas Guttentag is professor of the practice of law at Stanford and a senior research scholar at Yale. A leading expert on immigration law, he founded the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project and has litigated complex class action and appellate cases at every level of the federal judiciary throughout the United States. He served in senior policy positions in the Obama and Biden administrations, and he created the Immigration Policy Tracking Project, a dynamic website profiled in the New Yorker and The New York Times that tracks every Trump-era immigration policy.
