Reimagining Human Rights in a Changing World: A Conversation with Tirana Hassan, Human Rights Watch’s Executive Director

Don't miss this chance to sit down for an intimate conversation with one of the world's foremost human rights advocates.

Tirana Hassan, as Human Rights Watch’s new executive director, has a wealth of international experience and a track record of speaking truth to power. Her strategic vision and compassionate leadership will guide the organization as it takes on the complex human rights challenges of the present and the future. Join us for a wide-ranging discussion on how HRW plans to reimagine human rights in an era of shifting geopolitical power, increasing disinformation, and rising authoritarianism. How is the organization focusing on people who are most impacted by abusive systems? How can we all be part of driving the human rights movement forward? How can we ensure a future where everyone can thrive?

The roots of Human Rights Watch go back 45 years, and the New York-based organization continues to conduct research and advocacy on human rights. It was one of the winners of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, and it played a key role in the 2008 treaty banning cluster munitions.

At this time of international military, economic and social turmoil, join us for this important conversation on the future of human rights.

This is the first program in a series to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, co-sponsored with Article3.org.
