What History Got Wrong
What does the current historical consensus get wrong about 20th-century history? Amity Shlaes is author of four New York Times bestsellers on American history. Writing from a classically liberal perspective, Shlaes has examined the 20 century, with a special focus on the Great Depression. The Forgotten Man, which challenges historical orthodoxy, has been translated into multiple foreign languages and is also published in a graphic novel form. The Economist named her biography of Calvin Coolidge a "book of the year." Amity Shlaes has served on the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal, and her syndicated column was carried by the Financial Times and Bloomberg. She chairs the board of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation; her book on the 1960s, The Great Society, will soon be published by HarperCollins.
