Life in the Sinai: Egypt’s Wild West
Frazer Thompson will describe the Bedouin of the Sinai's struggle to survive in the face of Egyptian absolutism as well as growing extremist threats from terrorist groups such as the Islamic State. Thompson, who is interested in the Sinai, geopolitics, security issues and the environment, will also discuss his dissertation, “Life in the Sinai and Egypt's Accords with the West and the Arab World.”
