The Woman Who Invented the Information Age
The Woman Who Invented the Information Age
Kurt W. Beyer, Author, Grace Hopper and the Invention of the Information Age
When we think of the pioneers responsible for the information age, our thoughts often turn to Thomas Watson, Bill Gates, Andy Grove and Steve Jobs. But Beyer will share with us the amazing story of Grace Hopper, the woman whose achievements as a business executive, inventor and visionary created the technical foundation upon which the modern computer industry has been built. Beyer will also discuss the roots of the computer revolution, the role of government in the process of large-scale technical transformation, and the process of invention.
