With headlines about government surveillance swirling in the media and Americans fiercely divided on the issue of civil liberties and privacy, this panel of experts will explore the emerging issues associated with the use of domestic drones in law enforcement. As the United States opens its air space to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), drones could become commonplace in the arsenal of policing and homeland security. This panel will address the legal, regulatory and ethical considerations of deploying drones in law enforcement that both protect security while balancing vital interests, such as civil liberties, due process, privacy and innovation.
