How Tiananmen Changed China
John Kamm, Founder and Executive Director, Dui Hua Foundation
Twenty years have passed since the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, and demonstrators are still serving prison sentences for their involvement. Kamm examines how the government’s response to Tiananmen has affected China’s relationship with the world. He reviews his work to free prisoners, arguing for a pardon on the occasion of this year’s 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
This program was recorded in front of a live audience at the Commonwealth Club of California on June 3, 2009.
