Californians with a convenient way to navigate, comprehend and make choices about the many reform proposals that are being placed before the voters in 2010. California Choices is a project of Next 10 and Stanford’s Bill Lane Center for the American West with the Institute for Government Studies at U.C. Berkeley and the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State. This “Partners Launch” will feature reform experts and advocates, along with a diverse array of journalists and citizens, to discuss how greater public involvement could move California past its current crisis. Results from the first-ever multilingual Field Poll will also be released, and participants will work together to figure how to get more Californians involved in reform. California Choices is motivated by the belief that reform matters for everyone in the state, no matter what the causes they are most passionate about, and a more informed, engaged electorate enhances the prospect for sustainable governance reform.

This program was recorded in front of a live audience at the Commonwealth Club of California on March 2, 2010.
