C. W. Gortner: Isabella of Castile

C. W. Gortner: Isabella of Castile

C. W. Gortner, Author, The Queen's Vow

Isabella of Castile is best known for funding Columbus's inaccurate dreams, but her full story is richer and far more complex. Isabella, a warrior queen whose strategies and love-against-the-rules marriage united a fractured country, and on whose watch the Inquisition created indelible images of theocracy gone astray, is reimagined by C. W. Gortner as a young teenager caught in webs of royal intrigue, followed by a mythic rise to power that transformed Spain and the Americas.
