Development Intern

Job Description

The Commonwealth Club of California’s development department seeks an energetic intern to assist with special projects and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in nonprofits and fundraising. The development intern will help with administrative projects, assist with mailings, respond to member inquiries, perform Internet research and help with other projects as needed. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in nonprofit fundraising and public affairs and the many diverse subjects and speakers hosted by The Club, as you will have access to all Commonwealth Club programs free of charge during the internship.


Familiarity with MS Office is necessary for this position. In addition, candidates must be Internet savvy, have good clerical skills and have excellent attention to detail. The number of hours and schedule are flexible, the ideal candidate will be available for 16–24 hours a week. This internship can start at any time.


This is a volunteer position; a monthly travel stipend of $75 is available
