Alaska's Wild Lands: Denali & the Kenai Fjords

Explore real Alaska on this exclusive adventure designed for Commonwealth Club members. Join Climate One Founder Greg Dalton as we look at issues and solutions related to our pressing energy and the environmental challenges.

Starting in the arctic area of Fairbanks, meet with premier scientists to discuss climate change issues affecting Alaska today. Visit the Alaska Pipeline and learn about Alaska's oil production and effects across the world. Journey deep into Denali National Park and encounter Alaska's most famed wildlife, like grizzlies, wolves, caribou, moose and more. Hike, bike and explore throughout mountain valleys with views of the stunning Alaska Range. We'll visit historic mining sites in the Kantishna region of Denali and learn about its impact on the current environment.

Explore the famed Kenai Peninsula, known for its turquoise rivers, native salmon, bald eagles and healthy moose populations. Cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park and encounter an array of wildlife - whales, sea lions, puffins, and seals. Our ecolodge rests in a protected lagoon, near the face of Pedersen Glacier, and is surrounded by a wildlife sanctuary. Kayak, hike, beach comb and more by day; gather around the bonfire - or wood-fired sauna - by night. Learn about the fate of Alaska's receding glaciers and local conservation efforts.

Our tour concludes in Alaska's largest city, Anchorage. Throughout the adventure, enjoy incredible nature and national parks, wilderness fine dining and lodging, and great educational programs.
