Guest Services Coordinator

Here’s an exciting opportunity to be in the presence of America’s most prominent opinion leaders. The Commonwealth Club of California, America’s premier public speaking forum, seeks a Guest Services Coordinator to work with the Guest Services Department.

Overview
The Guest Services Coordinator is responsible for communicating with members and the general public, membership, ticket sales and merchandise information as well as the processing of these transactions. Accurate and timely entry of this information is crucial to the success of event sales. This position ensures that attendees have a great experience at The Commonwealth Club, ensuring that both members and potential members feel welcomed, appreciated and highly valued.

Duties

  • Greet and assist members and guests who visit the Club
  • Answer the ticket sales and general phone lines
  • Process patron ticket orders by phone, in person, and online
  • Process CD orders made over the phone and online to ensure that these are fulfilled in a timely, accurate fashion
  • Reconcile program revenue and report to the Accounting Department
  • Receive, sort and respond to ticket and merchandise mail and email correspondence
  • Assist with check-in, will call distribution, walk up sales, and membership sales at on- and offsite events
  • Promote the Club, all events, and the benefits of membership to increase sales
  • Coordinate with the Director of Guest Services on all work and work with other departments as necessary

Hours
This position is hourly and dependent on programs scheduled each week, but is expected to be 24 hours a week, including evenings.

Background

  • Minimum of three years experience in customer service
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and databases such as Raiser’s Edge
  • Strong cash handling and telephone skills


Compensation
Hourly, rate dependent on experience. 24 hours a week.
