"My entire career has been all about health and wellness. I've been trained in science, in the history of medicine, in the business of science and medicine, and how this impacts our understanding of health and disease. My focus has consistently been on how innovation can be harnessed to expand opportunities for positive change."

Dr. Kilpatrick is currently chair of the Health & Medicine Member-led Forum at the Commonwealth Club of California and is a member of the Club's Board of Governors. He is a senior member at St. Antony’s College, Oxford, and a visiting academic at the Oxford Martin School research institute in the University of Oxford. He is chief strategic development officer at Phenome Health, a Seattle-based health innovation not-for-profit company, and an advisor to Berkeley SkyDeck, the technology incubator and accelerator with a focus on science start-ups in the bioscience space. Kilpatrick is a member of the Advisory Board of the Columbia University Master of Science Program in Bioethics and is a founding partner in Technology Vision Group LLC, an advisory and investment company in the health-care space. He received a Ph.D. in the history of medicine from the University of Cambridge, and is the author of a forthcoming book titled, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
