These days you can barely walk down some streets without bumping into a taco truck, a sausage stand or the tamale lady. San Francisco just held its first-ever Street Food Festival, and the local Creme Brulee Man was recently written up in The New York Times, signifying that Bay Area street food has moved beyond pretzels and hot dogs and into the Twittersphere and beyond.
