TITLE: P. J. O’Rourke’s Take on On the Wealth of Nations
Satirist P.J. O’Rourke will delve into Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations, making that often-quoted, but rarely read tome on economics, accessible. He will reveal why what seems obvious now was once, and still is, revolutionary. Renowned for his strong libertarian stance, O’Rourke will explain why self-interest must be a governing principle of society.
O’Rourke is the author of thirteen books, including Republican Party Reptile and Give War a Chance. Three have been listed on The New York Times Bestseller List. He has served as editor-in-chief at National Lampoon, as foreign affairs desk chief at Rolling Stone, and his work has appeared in numerous publications, including Vanity Fair, The Atlantic Monthly, and The American Spectator. Currently he is the H. L. Mencken Research Fellow at the Cato Institute.
