The New Park Above Golden Gate Park: California Academy of Sciences Living Roof (4/22/09)

More than 2.5 acres and 1.7 million native plants have been added to Golden Gate Park by the creative installation and landscape design on the Academy of Sciences’ rooftop. Known for his pioneering work in living architecture, Kephart will discuss how his team researched, modeled and installed the park above a park. A biologist, researcher and dedicated environmentalist, Kephart will share how this unique form of living architecture and building ecology has evolved. Join us for this special Earth Day event.
