On July 30, 2014, Peace Corps announced the evacuation of over 100 volunteers from Guinea due to the Ebola epidemic. Recently evacuated Peace Corps volunteers who served in Guinea will bring an on-the-ground perspective of the people and communities in the Ebola-affected region. They will discuss the conditions that allowed for its rapid spread, how the people in their communities reacted and what it was like to be evacuated, suddenly leaving friends and colleagues in the midst of crisis.
