Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC Host; Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer and Writer, The West Wing
 
Just two weeks prior to the November election, O’Donnell, host of MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, will bring his extraordinary background in politics, entertainment and news to the Club. Prior to hosting his own show on MSNBC, O’Donnell won an Emmy for NBC’s The West Wing. Before working in television, O’Donnell worked on the Hill as a senior advisor to Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan and was chief of staff of the Senate Finance Committee. After visiting Malawi in 2010 with the intent of providing desks to students who had never seen them, O’Donnell, along with MSNBC and UNICEF, created K.I.N.D. Fund (Kids in Need of Desks) with the mission to deliver desks to African schools. During its first year, the program raised $2,413,999 and has delivered 39,949 desks.
