More than a generation after the fall of the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia shows many signs of having overcome its devastating history. But under this facade lies a country still haunted by terror. As many as two million Cambodians, one-third of the nation’s population, were killed during the Khmer Rouge regime. In 1992, the United Nations began an ambitious program to rebuild the country. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Brinkley returned to Cambodia to find that its people still face brutal oppression and personal tragedy, including the PTSD that stalks much of the population. He'll talk about what he learned, and what can be done.
