America + Canada = A More Perfect Union: The Unnecessary Northern Border and the Promise of North America
Les Horswill, Canadian Political Commentator
Horswill argues that an expanded union between Canada and the United States, two of the world’s most experienced liberal-democratic federations, would bring about significant benefits for both countries. He will outline our shared strategic circumstances and the policies that have failed to allow more effective integration of the two countries, and will explain his belief that the border is thickening. Is Canadian sovereignty the obsolete basis for what has now become an unnecessary border? Horswill proposes general terms for political union and the case that American and Canadian moderates might make on behalf of the idea.
