Lessons from England: Holding Health-Care Providers Responsible for Quality and Costs
Chris Ham, CEO, The King's Fund; Professor of Health Policy and Management, University of Birmingham
Much of the attention paid to health reform has focused on insurance coverage, but another important aspect of the new law will be to foster “accountable care organizations” that would take responsibility for improving outcomes and controlling costs.  Ham will discuss how the trusts work in England and the lessons that can be drawn for improving health care in the U.S.
