Humanities West Book Discussion: The Ornament of the World

Surprisingly, medieval Toledo, Spain, home of Muslims, Jews and Christians, fostered a relatively tolerant culture. As we struggle with today’s issues of religious and cultural tolerance, exploring a wondrous historical phenomenon of peaceful co-existance and openness could not be more relevant. Join us to discuss The Ornament of the World: How Muslims, Jews, and Christians Created a Culture of Tolerance in Medieval Spain, by Maria Rosa Menocal. The discussion will be moderated by Lynn Harris.
