The Skeptical Environmentalist and The Sierra Club: Lomborg and Pope Tackle Climate Change
Bjorn Lomborg, Author, Cool It; Skeptical EnvironmentalistCarl Pope, Chairman, The Sierra ClubCraig Miller, Senior Editor, Climate Watch, KQED Radio - Moderator
Watch the movie Cool It (before it even comes out in theatres!), then debate the issues. Skeptical environmentalist Lomborg declares that global warming is a chief concern facing the world, but says we should focus our resources on more immediate concerns like fighting poverty and HIV/AIDS. INFORUM is hosting a pre-release screening of Cool It, the film based on Lomborg’s 2007 book, which outlines Lomborg’s climate solutions. Are these the same solutions that the Sierra Club’s Pope would offer up? Probably not. This pair of environment advocates will tackle the issues in an exclusive discussion after the screening. Find out what happens when the environment’s devout defender meets the climate change critic.
