Running out of Water: The Looming Crisis and Solutions to Conserve Our Most Precious Resource

Running Out of Water: The Looming Crisis and Solutions to Conserve our Most Precious Resource

Susan Leal, Fellow, Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard University; Former Head, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission

The world is well on its way to running out of fresh water, says Leal, but there are ways to fix this problem. Since leaving her position at San Francisco's Public Utilities Commission, Leal has focused on water issues, co-authoring a new book with Harvard professor Peter Rogers that weaves together science, politics and economics to address the situation. Leal will outline the problem and describe case studies that illustrate the solutions available.
