Monday Night Philosophy goes looking for the roots of the Renaissance in the writings of Pico della Mirandola. In 1486, Pico became famous for proposing to defend 900 theses on religion, philosophy, natural philosophy and magic against all comers. To support his theses he wrote the Oration on the Dignity of Man, which has been called the “Manifesto of the Renaissance.” Read more »
