The Stephen H. Schneider Award for Outstanding Climate Science Communication
Dr. Richard Alley, Professor of Geosciences, Penn State
Alley will receive the first $10,000 Climate One award in honor of the late Stanford climatologist Stephen Schneider. Dr. Alley, host of the PBS documentary "Earth: The Operators Manual," once testified before Congress using his bald head to illustrate ice age cycles and recorded a video explaining geoscience while strumming guitar to a Johnny Cash song.
