From shipyard electrician to head of the Solidarity movement to winning the Nobel Peace Prize and being elected president of Poland, Lech Walesa has played a unique role in the transformation of his once-communist homeland - and he has inspired many others around the world with his courage and determination. As part of The Commonwealth Club Medallion Speaker Series, Lech Walesa spoke on the greatest challenge he sees for the 21st century. Following his talk, Walesa was presented with The Commonwealth Club Medallion, in recognition for his role in shaping our era. Robert Saldich, Chair of the Executive Committee, moderated the Q&A.
