The American Conservatory Theater and The Commonwealth Club launched the Good Lit at the Geary series on April 19 with a program featuring author and actress Anna Deavere Smith, who performed several monologues before sitting down with Good Lit Series Director Barbara Lane. Their conversation touched on Smith's theatrical training and her experiences interviewing people in racially traumatized communities across the country. Smith also commented - diplomatically - on recent U.S. presidents' conversational styles.
