Statistics indicate that Americans' participation in community, through organizations and affiliations, has dropped substantially in the past 30 years. As part of our Centennial Assembly earlier this year, we brought together a panel to look at whether this is in fact the case. And even if it is, we asked, what are some examples of success of citizens contributing through organizations? And how can civic discourse be strengthened?
