Social Media Marketing Internship
Are you Facebook savvy? An avid Tweeter? We have a place for you at The Commonwealth Club! We are looking for a highly dedicated individual who will be excited to create social media content for The Commonwealth Club of California’s programs. We are a nonprofit public affairs forum that holds more than 400 speaking programs a year. The Social Media Marketing Intern will help promote Club programs primarily through social media channels, as well as traditional marketing channels.
Job Description:
The social media marketing intern will play a major role in The Commonwealth Club's social media outreach and marketing strategy. Duties specifically include:
• Writing new content for the Club's Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other accounts to promote the Club’s programs
• RSS building to track the Club’s presence on social media outlets
• Assist in blogging about the Club’s programs to generate interest in Club programs
• Interacting with Club members and other interested parties who contact us through our social media outlets.
• Researching and reporting on new social media trends and services.
• Finding and cultivating social media contacts to spread the word about Club activities past, present, and future.
• Researching target markets to promote programs
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated proficiency in social media.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively on a team and independently.
Hours:
Approximately 20 hours per week, ideally spread out over three or four days. The intern should be willing to Twitter/Facebook multiple times a day. The position lasts three months, after which time there may be an opportunity for renewal.
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship with a monthly travel stipend.
