Finance-HR Intern
The Commonwealth Club of California, America's premier public speaking forum, seeks an intern to work with the Finance Department. This is an exciting opportunity to be in the presence of America's most prominent leaders.
Overview
The Finance/HR Intern is responsible in supporting the Finance Department. This position is the overseer of a marketing campaign for the Club’s Rental division. This position ensures that attendees have a great experience at The Commonwealth Club, guaranteeing that customers receive the highest quality of customer service and feel welcomed, appreciated and highly valued. This is a great way to master customer service skills as well as have the opportunity to meet some of our distinguished speakers. This position is in charge of book sales at nightly programs a few days a week. This position also requires statistical and analysis experience.
Duties
Develop and design marketing campaigns for outreach
Help create revenue-generating marketing ideas to increase rentals and book sales at the Club
Research and create a client database
Handle book sales at nightly programs
Perform statistical analysis for sales
Background
Excellent interpersonal skills and cash handling ability
Strong entrepreneurial spirit to work in a creative and open environment
Comfortable interacting with a variety of personalities and conducting cold calls for contact research/follow-up
Minimum of one year experience in customer service
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

Hours
We are flexible and want to work around your schedule; however, the position requires staying late (8 p.m.) for book sales. Minimum of 10 hours per week.
Compensation
This is a volunteer position. There is an opportunity to earn college credit. Monthly travel stipend provided.
